26/02/21 14:23 | From 8 March, face-to-face teaching can take place either in the teacher's home or the pupil's, provided that lessons are being used to obtain a regulated qualification, to meet the entry requirements for an education institution (e.g. auditions), or to undertake exams and assessments. Lessons are subject to a risk assessment plus the usual mitigations and COVID-safe working practices. At this stage it is not clear whether adult face-to-face teaching can resume. Further updates will follow when more is known. |
05/01/21 12:22 | Zoom recently released a new version of their platform and the sound options have changed. Please note that you probably will need to alter some settings to get sound of usable quality. |

03/12/20 22:41 | In all three tiers, private face-to-face teaching can now take place in a teacher’s or pupil’s home provided that a COVID-19 risk assessment has been made and that other mitigating actions will be taken. I am therefore offering face to face lessons once more. |
02/12/20 09:42 | ABRSM has revised its "Guidance for Candidates" document. Anyone taking an exam in the current 2020 period should be familiar with this before attending a practical exam. Please see my COVID-19 page, where you will find a link. |

28/11/20 11:38 | The government has published guidance regarding the three tiers that will be in effect after December 2nd. The ISM has stated that their current interpretation is that face-to-face private tuition can proceed in all tiers. More clarification is being sought however, and the guidance could change again. Please check back here for the latest updates. |
